Israel Forever

Shalom friends,

Last Shabbat marked the date when Rachel, a matriarch of the Nation of Israel, died while en route in the Land of Israel (1553 BC). Her grave is a site that hundreds of thousands of Jews visit each year, paying homage to our mother Rachel.

Our family is thousands of years old. The connection is personal and tangible - and yet now, especially when we are far from these physical reminders, it can be harder to make our connection personal. There are many different ways we can find our place in this eternal story.

Through social media, spreading truth and emphasizing the positive, we can support Israel from the comfort of our own homes. By focusing on Shabbat, we can dedicate a special time to connect to our Jewish identity and roots in Zion. For some of us, the answer might be as simple as the food we eat, bringing Israel into our hearts through the gut – literally. Or all of these, combined!
