Shalom friends,
There is so much about Israel that inspires us, and doing good deeds is part and parcel of Israeli culture. From saving communities devastated by disaster, to providing support for victims of terror; from saving lives with our medical care to inventing technology that benefits the entirety of humanity, Israel is a country build on good deeds.
The hope for good of our pioneering visionaries and the sense of communal belonging from one Jew to another finally resettled back in our ancestral homeland emerge from the same source: the idea that we are all a part of something bigger than ourselves.
Good Deeds Day was created to focus on actively doing good. Most of us have the causes we support throughout the year but it is good to have one day to spotlight the importance of doing good year around. In Israel, Good Deeds Day is on March 18th. In America, Good Deeds Day is on April 15th.
We’ve gathered together a few ways you can make a difference, no matter where you are in the world. Please let us know what mitzvah you chose for your Good Deeds Day or any day!
