For years, it was said that the "Jews walked to their death like sheep to slaughter." Still, the diaries and memoirs of the victims and survivors prove that every day, they resisted the tyranny, fought for life, and struggled to keep their humanity, their dignity, and their hope alive under the most severe conditions. Jewish resistance in the ghettos, camps, and throughout the Holocaust is an integral part of the memory we inherit and must pass onward to the future. October 7th has challenged every Jew in terms of the threat posed to us by Islamic fascist groups like Hamas intent on our destruction. We recognized from the Oct 7th pogrom that even with a powerful army, miscalculations and oversights can occur, and these frighteningly can threaten our existential existence. Our losses have been enormous, but thanks to our IDF warriors and our fantastic nation of Am Yisrael, we have prevailed and will continue to rise above our challenges regardless of the pain and loss. We cannot compare October 7th to the Holocaust as the Holocaust stands alone as an unprecedented horrific testimony of man's cruel and terrible inhumanity to man. Demand Justice for Israeli Human Rights Israeli human rights have been ignored in the war against the heinous terror group Hamas; the brutal and horrific sexual atrocities against Jewish women at a peace festival have been ignored. The murder and burning of whole Jewish families have been ignored. The kidnapping of 253 innocent civilians, including the Holocaust survivors and babies from the villages of Southern Israel and the Nova Music Festival, has been, for the most part, overlooked. Even though the Israeli government established that from released hostages that the hostages were starved and brutally emotionally, mentally, and sexually abused, their plight and their needs, including their medical needs, were ignored by the International Red Cross Committee. We have been shamed, lied about, and labeled viciously by governments and world bodies, even though we went above and beyond in the attempt to protect the human rights of the Gazan civilians in this complicated urban conflict. Even though, according to statisticians and military experts, the Hamas terror organization is lying about civilian casualty numbers, this, too, is ignored. Israel, as a liberal Democracy, war reports are ignored; instead, Middle Age style blood libels against Israel are believed, and the lies of a heinous rapist terror organization are accepted as fact, an Orwellian reality. Today is a very important anniversary in the history of the Jewish people. Most people are not aware of the San Remo Conference, which took place on April 19, 1920, lasted for seven days, and published its resolutions on April 25, 1920. These seven days laid the political foundation for the creation of the 22 Arab League States and the one and only Jewish State of Israel. The full text of the Balfour Declaration became an integral part of the San Remo resolution and the British Mandate for Palestine, transforming it from a letter of intent into a legally binding foundational document under international law. At San Remo, Chaim Weizmann proclaimed: This is the most momentous political event in the history of our movement and the history of our people since our exile from our homeland."
