Passover: Seeing the Miracles

In less than a week, as we enter the holiday of Pesach, Jews will gather in their homes, with their families and friends to do a tradition that has been happening for over 3300 years. We will go through the Hagaddah to retell the story of our people's exodus from Egypt, and the open miracles that brought us out of the captivity of slavery and into realizing our identity as a free, independent nation.

On Seder night we will read the line 'In every generation, they try to destroy us, and Hashem saves us from their hands".

How impactful are these words right now? Earlier this week, Israel saw an unprecedented attack from the Islamofacist Iranian regime, stepping out from behind its local proxies of Hamas, Hezbollah, and others, to fire hundreds of rockets, ballistic missiles, and more directly at us.

Much like the night of Makat Bechorot itself, the Angel of Death came swooping towards heads in the middle of the night. And, likewise, we were able to witness the real-life miracle of the Iron Dome, working alongside the IDF, IAF, and several allies, which took down 99% of the incoming threat. Just a week before Passover, we were able to see this open miracle, in the miracle of our homeland of Israel, as this potentially catastrophic attack "passed over" us.

Even as we witnessed the miracles of this past week, we cannot forget that there are those in our family of Israel that are still suffering.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE THIS PESACH

Now more than ever we must be grateful for our soldiers fighting daily in defense of our people and our homeland. Show your gratitude for some of our bravest soldiers who are desperate to put food on their family’s tables this Pesach.

We are honored to be supporting the elite Yatar unit of milumnikim (reservists) that with their unique ATV training and skills conduct some of the most difficult rescue and anti-terrorism missions of the IDF. However, as this unit is made up of not just reserve soldiers, but volunteers, as the war continues past its sixth month, these noble individuals are suffering financially, as their families struggle at home and their businesses struggle to stay afloat.

We have been able to gift this unit with some packages with messages of love already, but we can use your support to make a bigger impact in their lives as we approach this holiday and beyond.

The Haggadah, so filled with references to Israel, is an amazing opportunity to reflect on our collective destiny as a people - a destiny borne of freedom, of hope, and of pride. While we sit around our seders, reciting the story of breaking the bonds of slavery, we can only pray that as we utter the name "Israel," we reflect on our own connection to our collective inheritance as we pass the story on each year.

FREEDOM AND REALITY: ISRAEL'S DESTINY

As we discuss our national freedom and redemption, and the miracles we have witnessed, we must of course mention the miracle of Israel, our national homeland, hope, and dream for over 2000 years.

In recognition of this dream of freedom, which we will reaffirm on Declaration Day, we invite you to join a global performance of our national anthem, Hatikvah.
