United for our city, for our future, and for our survival
On Yom Yerushalayim, for the first time in nearly 2,000 years, Jerusalem was reunited under Jewish sovereignty. The words “Har HaBayit b’yadeinu” ("The Temple Mount is in our hands") echoed not only through the streets of the Old City, but across generations of Jewish longing, prayer, and hope.
It was more than a military victory.
It was the fulfillment of prophecy. A return to the heartbeat of our people.
Jerusalem has never been “just” a city.
It is where our ancestors walked, prayed, ruled, and dreamed. It is named more than 600 times in Tanach — long before any empire laid claim to it.
Today, as our enemies seek to erase our past and deny our rights, we must speak louder with clarity and pride. The battle is not only over land — it is over truth.
Antisemitism isn't something that is restricted by time or place - it's not an Israel war or an attack against Diaspora Jewry. We need to not divide ourselves into "the Israelis" and "the Diaspora" - it is too dangerous to continue that line of thinking. Too many of the world still blame the Jews and call for our extinction. The wars of Israel are a war on all Jewish existence.
Even here, even now, wherever that here and now for you are, our lives are threatened simply for being who we are. That’s why it matters more than ever to remember that we already have a capital — Jerusalem. Eternal, undivided, and defended by the IDF, Jerusalem is not just a city. It is our home, our heart, our hope. Likewise, when we stand undivided, protected by our noble army, remembering that we all are a part of the Eternal Nation, that we can get through this. It is only together that we will win.
For 2,000 years we prayed to return to Jerusalem. Today, we don’t just pray — we protect it. When the world fails to shield us, Jerusalem stands as a reminder that we must never rely on others to guarantee our safety. We must know our truth. We must stand by our capital. We must never stop fighting for it.
We remember that Jerusalem was our capital when London, Paris, and Washington D.C. were still swamps and forests. We remember that for 19 long years, the Kotel was silenced by snipers, inaccessible to Jews, until we returned. And we remember that today, we are still defending our right to exist—not only across physical borders, but in timelines, headlines, classrooms, and campus quads. The struggle for truth continues—and so must our voice.
