How To Respond When There Is No Response
Following the devastating and horrific news of the gang-rape of a 12-year-old Jewish girl in France, the public displays on New York subways and streets, on campuses, at concerts, and the exposed terror training camps popping up all over the United States and around the world, we have to mobilize our Jewish rights movement now more than ever.
It seems that the world does not care about the fear Jews face of being stabbed, abducted, or raped as they walk around their cities. And indeed, attacks are happening almost every day. Some reported, probably many not out of fear of being rejected, not believed, or worse, denied dignity and further abused.
As another week goes by, the feeling of suffocating silence grows. What do you do when you feel like there’s nothing to say but something needs to be said? How do we respond at all, when there’s new tragedies faster than we can process them? How do we make our voices heard, when there are so many other voices eager to erase and silence them?
Personal empowerment is key, and finding communities of connection essential to being able to do more in our collective fight.
Want to spread the truth? Be in touch with Israel Forever for consultancy on how you can tackle rampant Antisemitism and lies.
What more can you be doing? We must take action. We must use our voices. Get in touch with local organizations, get in touch with us. Imagine if you just send one message of 'What more can I do' to a movement of fighting the hate - it will take you into a whole world of opportunity, helping Am Yisrael to win this fight.
We have resources and opportunities, and we want to work with YOU to create MORE. While may not all wear the uniform of our beloved Israel Defense Forces, we share in the responsibility of being on guard as Jews. We should all feel as if we are watchmen on the wall for all our Jewish brothers and sisters in our communities in Israel and abroad. And we can join our people’s fight by taking action not only on the social networks, but in our social and very real lives.

Sometimes our strength is borne from an honest reflection of our fears. Elie Wiesel, Z”L, spoke openly about the threat of Antisemitism again taking over societies and mindsets. His essay, Why I Am Afraid, written in 1974, gave voice to a Holocaust survivor and leader facing painful truths we may not want to see about the rise of hate against Jews.
One thing we know to be true: the dehumanization of Jews and Jewish rights enables the spread of the vile and violent lies that are growing. The patterns from then are being repeated, as they erase the very essence of human dignity in their denial of rape, massacre and the burning of Israel and her innocent citizens.
