Staying Strong in the Face of Fire

Tags: Israel Under Fire, Activism, Antisemitism, Causes

Fires are burning all around us. Literal and figurative. Hopelessness so easily creeps in. Compassion fatigue, heartbreak, fears over the what will come of this forever war the world has imposed upon our people. Trauma we cannot define.

But we cannot give up our resolve to keep our spirit strong, our hearts filled with purpose. We are facing the fires with light in our hearts still burning from Chanukah, for that is what we know will help us outlast and overcome, no matter how bleak it seems: our pride and passion, our hope and our faith will guide us forward.

Every day lately, we receive amazing messages from global community members thanking us for the inspiration they get from our reels, posts and programs. We are seeing more and more people join as Virtual Citizens of Israel, and reaching out for consulting to bring more creativity to their personal activism. People are searching, and we are honored to be able to help every way we can.

In the last few weeks we have:

Shlomi completes a Healing Arts community mosaic

So much need, so much to do, all while we try to cope with the continued war on every front and helping Dr. Heideman take the lead on personal empowerment activism with her inspiring insight. Have you sent your expression of support?

We are able to do it all thanks to you. And with our help, you can do even more, so let us know what you need!

On January 27, the world commemorates International Holocaust Remembrance Day. When the date was selected, on the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, it was believed that it would advance the memory and understanding of the Holocaust - and its warning to the world. But as the years have passed, the day has enabled a universalization of the genocidal intent of the Nazis that did not end when the Soviet armies arrived to the camp - by then emptied of the majority of its primary victims.

The erasing of the Jews has enabled continued distortions of the facts and significance of the Holocaust. And now we are living in a new era of attempts to genocide the Jewish nation. Denial and distortion dominate nearly ever forum, and there are institutions that are refusing to commemorate the Holocaust over their bias against Israel's war for security of its citizens - the only insurance the Jewish people have that another Holocaust will never be possible.

80 years ago, the Nazi determination to destroy every last Jewish witness drove them on death marches. The liberation we commemorate of Auschwitz was not the end. Our remembrance must include a renewal of knowledge, an understanding of the lessons we must carry forward from those last months of momentary survival when 700,000 Jews were marched and 250,000 met their deaths.

Join Dr. Heideman and special guests in an exploration of liberation truths, and those unfulfilled.

Fight evil, do not let it grow. Learn the value of small gestures, the act of generosity. These justify humanity. - Elie Wiesel
